Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 2025

Overview

Pawly is designed with your privacy in mind. We believe your pet photos and personal data belong to you and should stay on your device. This privacy policy explains how Pawly handles your information.

Data Storage

All your data stays on your device. Pawly stores all pet profiles, photos, and app data locally on your iPhone using Apple's secure storage systems. We do not have servers that collect or store your personal information.

  • Pet profiles (names, birthdays, photos) are stored locally
  • Your photo library access is used only to import and display photos
  • No data is uploaded to our servers
  • No user accounts or registration required

Camera & Photo Library Access

Pawly requests access to your camera and photo library to provide its core functionality:

  • Camera: To capture photos and videos of your pets
  • Photo Library: To save captured photos and import existing pet photos
  • Location (optional): To add location metadata to photos if you enable this feature

You can manage these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings app.

AI Emotion Analysis

Pawly uses Google's Gemini AI to analyze your pet's emotions in photos. Here's how it works:

  • When you use the emotion analysis feature, photos are temporarily sent to Google's Gemini API for processing
  • Google processes the image and returns only the emotion analysis result
  • We do not store your photos on any server
  • Google's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy
  • Emotion analysis is optional - you can use Pawly without enabling this feature

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal identification information
  • Email addresses or phone numbers
  • Location history
  • Usage analytics or tracking data
  • Advertising identifiers

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service Pawly uses is Google's Gemini AI for optional emotion analysis. No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are integrated into the app.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it:

  • Delete individual pet profiles and their associated data within the app
  • Uninstalling Pawly removes all app data from your device
  • Photos saved to your Photo Library remain there until you delete them

Children's Privacy

Pawly does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app is designed for general audiences and does not require any personal information to function.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
